Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!
We are blessed beyond measure to have a Dad who loves the Lord with his whole heart, and has dedicated himself to serve Him!! His willingness to allow the Lord to direct our family and his testimony of faithfulness to Mom is an example to all who know him. We reap daily the benefits of a Father who has turned his given his life to the Lord and has turned his heart towards his children.

Trivia Tuesday!!

The answer is.............

Esther!!

She has had a very low pain tolerance since she was a baby, and therefore when she is confronted with severe pain, she just faints.

The first time she was pretty young, Mom was placing her in the highchair for a meal and Esther decided she didn't want to sit at the moment. She straightened her legs and refused to slide into the seat. She ended up falling on the ground and hitting her head. She then began crying and instantly fainted.

The second time she was a little older; 5 or 6 and was driving a little toy tricycle around. The car flipped over backwards (she must have been driving too fast!) and instantly fainted once more.

The last time she fainted, she was 10. We were getting ready to go to church on Sunday morning, and Rebecca was doing Esther's hair. As she stood there, getting more and more impatient, she spied the basketball sitting nearby. The next thing we knew she was standing a top the basketball, trying to balance on it. She did not succeed and falling over hit her head on the table and then fainted.

The new trivia is--

"How many vehicles have Dad and Mom owned in the 28 years of their marriage??"

Mom's 50th!!!

We had a wonderful week-end celebrating Mom's 50th birthday!! (Scott and Lydia celebrated 4 years of marriage on the 5th, and Moses turned 14 on the 7th, so it was a week-end of fun and rejoicing in the blessings the Lord has given us!!)
There were two surprises in store for Mom-- first, her sister flew in from New York to surprise her!! Then a small birthday party that Rebecca and Lydia organized for her and a few close friends.
It was a precious week-end for us, with both the girls up and with special friends who came and blessed Mom with their presence and thoughtfulness.
Uncle Billy wrote a very special poem for Mom. The meaningful lines are dispersed amongst the following pictures to give you a glimpse of the festivities.

Our birthdays are given from God above; another year for us to love.

A special day He set aside, His arms extended and open wide.

For on this special day for you, He planned your life and what you'd do.
A daughter, sister, mother, wife;

all are blessings in your life.

Each child He entrusted in your care,

a loving husband to hold you near.

As years go by and children go,

Your blessings seem to grow and grow!

For now the grandkids come to share,

as you celebrate another year.

Another miracle from God above;

an extended family for you to love!

Fifty years where did they go??

Look around you and you'll know.

Birthday cake with candles bright,

laughter and singing through the night.

Though some family is far away;

you're in our prayers both night and day.

Birthdays come and birthdays go,

Wisdom, courage, faith and love; these are gifts from God above.

but there are things that you should know.

Enjoy this day and make it fun,

for before you know it;

you'll be 51!!!

Trivia Tuesday!!

The answer to the last trivia is...................
B
It never hurts to have a little bit of fun.......
As you can see, some of them were a little more enthusiastic about it then others. :)
And the new trivia is-----
One day one of our boys was industriously mowing around our lagoon. As he finished his task he came upon something that all boys love-- a huge frog. And I mean HUGE!!! It was literally the size of a large dinner plate. Eager to show off his discovery, he placed it in the bottom of a empty icecream pail and snapped the lid on. Bringing it inside, he brought it to Mom, who was sitting in the living room. She was reluctant to have him open the pail, because he wouldn't tell her what was inside, and she had visions of something, or many somethings (you know, ants, ladybugs, worms etc......) popping out and invading her house. Finally he assured her that nothing would escape from the pail. Tipping it forward, he removed the lid, just in time for the mammoth frog to leap from the pail and right into Mom's lap. You can imagine Mom's response!! He was able to scoop up the frog after only a few more hops, and hastily returned it to the great outdoors.
Since then, he has been most careful to make sure that if it breathes but is not human; it stays outside.
Which Ulmer boy found the frog??!?!?
