Spring Flooding.

We've had some more record rainfalls this Spring. Some local areas received up to 6 inches of rain in just a few hours.
When the rain let up temporarily, we treked the mile to see how far Turkey Creek had flooded it's banks.
Puddle Jumping!

-Raindrops-

- Iris-

There was water gushing on the side of the road.

-Rocks 'n Water-

The typically tiny trickling streams were overflowing with rushing water.

-Muddy Boots-

The flood waters come into view.

The creek is another hundred- two hundred feet into the trees.

High waters.

The rain has been excellent for the garden!! The vegetables are growing almost as quickly as the weeds!! :)

Trivia Tuesday!!

The answer is............
Cucumbers!!!
(With carrots, peppers, corn, beets, tomatoes and green-beans right behind.) :)
The new trivia is.........................
Once there was a little boy who was sent upstairs to take a nap. Now, after several restless moments, he snuck out of bed and wandered into the bathroom. Moving quietly, he explored the contents of the bathroom cupboards. After some searching, he came across Daddy's razor. Neat!! He had watched Daddy shave before, and was familiar with the purpose of a razor. Razor in hand, the little boy peered into the mirror, searching for something he could successfully shave. He was thoroughly occupied with the razor for some time, until Mommy called up that he could come downstairs. Guiltily, he hastened to hide all the evidence of his mischief. Something was amiss on his face though, and as he entered the living room, he wondered if he would be found out.

Mom took one look at her little boy and instantly burst out laughing. As soon as she could control herself, she looked at the little boy very seriously. "Son, have you been playing with Daddy's razor?" The little boy squirmed..........."Ummmmm.........uhhhh........no Mommy."

"Really?" Mommy said. "Then son, where are your eyebrows???"

Which Ulmer Boy shaved his eyebrows off???

(He was punished and yes, his eyebrows did grow back!)

In Memory of.......

Jeremiah Byard
December 31st 1986---May 17th 2009.

The Byard family, Christmas 2002.

Eleven days ago, our friend Jeremiah was killed in an auto accident.
For years our families have been close, and their boys like cousins to us. We've spent so many Holidays together throughout the years-- Christmas and Ressurection Day especially. Those precious times memories now; memories we'll treasure.

Jeremiah was young, and many would call this an 'untimely death'. Jeremiah was given only 22 years on this earth. We trust the Lord, and thank Him for each of those years. We mourn the passing of our friend, yet we know it is no mistake. Even in our sorrow, our confidence is in the Lord-- for he knows the days alloted to each of His children-- He holds them in His hands! We will miss Jeremiah deeply, yet we rejoice in the work of our Heavenly Father; who moves in ways we do not always understand.

Please join us in upholding our dear friends in prayer. Pray for Jake and Cole, his parents; for grace and comfort. Pray for Zac, who has lost his brother and friend.
Jeremiah and the Ulmers.
